History of Orange Group
From a simple chemist shop to becoming one of Africa’s largest diversified consumer goods group, Orange Group’s success has been underpinned by the values of the founding Ezenna family. The business was founded by Sir Tony Ezenna, who imbued it with three guiding principles of trust, education and philanthropy, that are bound together by his family’s strong Christian faith.
After 13 years of working for the family owned chemist shop; Eastern Industrial Chemist, Sir Tony Ezenna set out on his entrepreneurial journey to build Orange Drugs Limited. The Company Orange Drugs Limited was first registered on July 20, 1988 with RC No 115913, and with its first office located in Ikenegbu, Owerri Imo State in the eastern part of Nigeria.
As the company grew and expanded, it moved its headquarters to the commercial city of Lagos, in order to best serve the needs of Nigerians and also make an impact on the world market. The first corporate office was at 4B Okupe Estate, Mende, Maryland, Lagos State, before the company expanded into its present Head Office at 66/68, Town Planning Way, Ilupeju, and Lagos State in 2001.
Orange Drugs Limited diversified from its pharmaceutical roots into the personal care industry in 1994, through the importation of soaps, creams and other beauty products. By 2006, the Company commenced the local production of diverse soap brands in Lagos aimed at meeting the needs of Nigerians, while boosting the Nigerian manufacturing sector and also creating jobs for the populace.
